Essentially it’s someone who works for themselves. Think of your typical builder or plumber. It’s that, but on a computer and usually sitting in coffee shops working. Personally I sit in breweries (if I can).

I can turn my hand to most things involved in Graphic Design, but below are some of the areas I specialise in:
Logo design
Ecommerce design
Stationery & business cards
Poster & flyers
Social media design
Creative direction
Packaging design
Newsletter design
WordPress websites

Product photography, still life, events & lifestyle photography.

Simply put, branding is a marketing practice to help define a true representation of who you are as a business. It’s sometimes an overlooked part of the business process but it’s super important to have good branding in order to target the right customers at the right time. Branding for your business includes:
This is something I love to help my clients achieve and it involves:
  1. Defining your purpose. What’s the goal of your project/business?
  2. Understanding your consumers/clients.
  3. Deciding key targets and smart objectives.
  4. Creating a strategic plan.
  5. Testing the results, and then evolving and developing from them.

A stylescape is part of the branding process, it identifies your brand. So your ideal customer, your colour palette, typography, photography, direction  etc. This is created before final designs are even started, it’s sort of like an in-depth Pinterest board.

I charge by project, for both Graphic Design & Photography. Submit an enquiry to sup@chrisrickman.ca or use the messenger apps at the bottom of the page.

Generally, half the amount is charged upfront and half on completion for one off projects. Recurring work is billed bi-weekly.
I accept bank transfers, PayPal & Cash payments if you’re local.

I freelance remotely all over the place, but my bases are Vancouver, Canada & Glastonbury, Somerset, UK. I go back and forth between these places. Right now, I’m in Glastonbury, Somerset, UK. I also have Clients in New York, New York, US.

I take on, Part Time & seasonal gigs, Daily projects, In-house contracts and retainers.  I prefer to work from my own studio, but sometimes projects need a face to face. Would I go full time with you? Never say never, it could be a great opportunity.

Absolutely and it wouldn’t be the first time. A lot of projects are behind closed doors.

I get a lot of enquiries from people asking for example “How much does a logo cost?” Unfortunately one size doesn’t fit all and there is also a lot more to branding than just having a new logo. Before you get in touch try to have a think about your style, what aspects of design work you are looking for and what your budget is. This really helps me to understand what the overall aim of the project is for you and how together we can best achieve your goals.
If you literally have no idea what you want to do brand and design wise though, that’s ok! Still feel free to get in touch and we can talk through it together to try and make a plan to make your project rock!

Who has a question? Hands up.

Reach out and let’s create something amazing together.
